At Travel Counsellors, we love a good travel story – and especially a good travel love story. And the recent experiences of our customer Thierry Ngutegure couldn’t be more romantic.

Having made up his mind to ask his girlfriend Kate to marry him, Thierry – who works in marketing – started looking at ways and places to do this. He inevitably happened upon influencers touting the Maldives as the most romantic place in the world and the destination for proposals, honeymoons, and weddings.

Thierry hadn’t used a Travel Counsellor before but contacted James after being told about his services by a personal contact. James’ advice was that Thierry look at other destinations which could be more suited to their interests. He reminded Thierry that his proposal holiday should be about making forever memories - which they did!

James and Thierry had several consultations over the course of an entire year, with James concerned to not only give Thierry ‘more for this money’ but to book something personally tailored to Kate as a person – to her tastes and passions.
